Why 2020?
Not so far ahead as 2030 and not so close as 2010.
A good distance from where we stand today. And that means we have SOME (or perhaps NO?) time to improve things.
The way we live… It’s “unsustainable”.
Over the past 10 years we have seen environmental, social and spritual crisis. It’s becoming more and more clear that we need to tackle these urgent global issues very soon. That’s what most people are feeling now.
But we have also seen some world-changing positive changes in the world of web. Over the past 10 years, emerging web2.0 technologies like Twitter, social network sites, blogs have grown and information is freely available and freely exchanged. It’s become a lot easier, quicker and effective to get connected to people globally. We know so much now.
We now know that problems need to be fixed. People now have the awareness and consciouness that the Earth is the only place we may call HOME. The fuse is lit. And it is up to this generation to create a sustainable future.
Under that mission, greenz.jp strives to be at the cutting edge of social activism by embracing people through online engagements and offline transformative social changes. We provide inspiring and practical solutions to help people conduct their own sustainable living. We don’t believe greenz.jp has ALL the answers. But it can surely provide ONE of the answers.
How we view and define a sustainable society
Co-Existence
Where all living species on planet Earth live in harmony and diversity is conserved.
Freedom
Where people have freedom of belief, expression, living and freedom to access any information.
Sharing
Where people share, give and not dictate. Where there is no poverty, no hunger and no war(Thus no need to possess any military forces and no military spending). Where there is no stress, confrontation or conflicts. Where everyone can self- produce energy. Thus no longer need to fight over oil.
Equality
Where every individual have enough food, shelter, love and have the equal opportunity to develop one’s gift. Where there is no polarization of the rich and the poor.
Democracy
Where political leaders dedicate their work for citizens and make decisions based on the impact of next seven generations.
Sustainability
Where resources are preserved and we leave no debt for future generations. Where the value shift to Sustainability from Capitalism.

People are striving for new and alternative ways to live sustainably. Co-operative housing, sharing services, permaculture, ecovillages – the ideas do exist but it just need be implemented and scale them up to the defacto standard living stlye. One of our goal is to simply walk the talk and create our own truly sustainable community with commited partners and friends.

When people saw the “Earthrise “ taken from Apollo 8 in 1969, it dramatically impacted our perception of Mother Earth and how we related ourselves to the planet, which contributed directly to the foundation of the global environmental movement.
