Coming soon: The Sanyo eneloop music booster
Many music devices, such as amps, equalizers, and multi-track recorders operate on a 9V DC power source supplied by either AC adapters or dry-cell batteries. However AC adapters cannot run without an electrical outlet, and dry-cell batteries are often replaced and thrown out before they are fully exhausted to prevent an embarrassing power failure during a performance. In order to address this issue, Sanyo has created the ‘eneloop music booster’, a new high-capacity rechargeable lithium-ion battery able to supply a stable and long lasting 9V power source for music devices. With the upcoming release of the ‘eneloop music booster’ SANYO has stepped up efforts to support lifestyles that value reusing and recycling.

Weighing a mere 280g, the unit is equipped with an On/Off switch, a LED indicator that shows the remaining battery level at a glance, and two 9V DC power ports. Standard usage times (according to the manufacturers) are very impressive:
* Analog effects unit (distortion / overdrive etc. Current usage 10mA): Approx. 50 hours
* Multi-track recorder or synthesizer (current usage 300mA): Approx 7 hours
* Electronic drums (current usage 1,000mA): Approx 2 hours
The music booster got a trial run at the Green Drinks Tokyo Xmas Special, with professional guitarist Jiro Yamada giving it the double thumbs up.

Yamada, who’s music is featured on eneloop commercials, first hooked up with eneloop after searching for an alternative to throwing 500 batteries away each day when on tour. “It’s a pleasure to be able to use something over and over again, without any waste”, says Yamada. Maybe that feeling is what keeps driving eneloop universe to develop new products.
This small, white music booster is set to change the future of music, from the street to the recording studio. And with the eneloop solar charger to recharge it anywhere, no desert or cliff top is too remote to miss out on the gift of music.
